OUR FAMILY:
When you buy from our farm, you are buying real food and supporting a real family.
Many people have some connection to a family farm in their family history, but the amount of family farms in our country has greatly declined for many reasons. There are many daily challenges involved in farm life, but we feel so very fortunate to be able to farm and feel that God has always provided for us. Not too long ago, Brady was able to make the jump to full-time farming. His background is in project management and military logistics, which has been helpful as he wears the many hats of managing a farm including lots of projects and logistics! Jenny’s background (before having our own family) is in pediatric occupational therapy, but she is thankful to be a stay-at-mother of 5, wife, and homeschooler.
In 2021, we moved to rural SW Missouri to give our kids a chance to experience life the way it was intended to be lived, in the quiet and beauty of nature. Our motto for the farm is “Ora et Labora” which is from Saint Benedict meaning “Pray and Work”. Our children help with daily chores and learn a lot about hard work and where our food comes from. We also try to instill in them a sense of gratitude for the food we eat and the ability to share food with those around us.
When you buy from us, you support a family, and we are very thankful for your support! God is good!
OUR ANIMALS:
We initially set out to provide high quality and nutritious meat for our own family. We found that we had a passion for raising animals and wanted to provide these products to the local community. We love working alongside and in tune with God’s creation and have found that regenerative farming practices provides for the best life of the animal while improving the land that they are raised on. This in turn increases the health of the animal, allowing them to live in their most natural setting with no need to receive vaccines, hormones, nor unnecessary antibiotics.
Our pigs and cattle are rotated throughout our pasture with the use of hot wire to make temporary paddocks. They always have access to clean water, green grass and sunshine. Our cattle are 100% grass-fed, grass-finished.
Our meat chickens are moved daily throughout the pasture so that they are always on new grass. This also helps to fertilize the pasture, making for more lush grass for the cows and allows us to bypass the use of any chemical fertilizers on our pasture.
Our egg laying chickens are in portable hoop coops that are moved weekly to keep them on fresh ground. They have a portable netting surrounding the hoop coop that gives them freedom to roam a larger area during the day, with the security of a portable coop at nighttime to keep predators at bay.
Our pigs and chickens are supplemented with Non-GMO, locally sourced feed.
Moving animals daily involves a lot of labor, but we think it's worth it! By focusing on the health of the animal, we are able to provide a high-quality product that we are proud to provide to our own family, friends and community around us.
